Launching a bold and vibrant brand identity for a beet-based juice and specialty products business

Challenge

The Shannon Strategies team connected with the owner of UpBeets during a marketing presentation for Black-owned businesses, hosted by Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development (OMBD). As part of our ongoing collaboration with OMBD, we offered the winner of their 2024 pitch contest a starter brand kit and communications consultation. UpBeets won the contest by a clear margin.

UpBeets was looking for an energetic brand identity to launch their new business. Their product line features beet juices, beet coleslaw, beet popsicles, and more. UpBeets needed a cohesive and vibrant brand presence that would appeal to health-conscious consumers. They required a logo, brand guide, and social media assets to establish a strong foundation for their marketing efforts.

We met with the owner of UpBeets to understand their vision, target audience, and market positioning. Together, we identified their key brand attributes as organic, energizing, and innovative. From there, we landed on a vibrant yet approachable aesthetic direction.

Logo Design: Our team developed a dynamic and versatile logo that encapsulated the spirit of UpBeets. The final design featured a bold yet sleek wordmark with a beet illustration incorporated into the typography. We used a vibrant color palette of deep reds, purples, and greens to highlight the natural and nutritious aspects of the brand.

Brand Style Guide: We created a comprehensive brand style guide outlining fonts, a color palette, and photo direction. This guide ensured consistency across all brand assets and provided UpBeets with visual direction for future branding efforts.

Social Media Assets: To jumpstart UpBeets' social media presence, we designed a set of custom social media posts templates. These assets were designed to maintain brand consistency while allowing flexibility for seasonal campaigns and product promotions.
