We are looking for a savvy communications specialist to join a growing team and help expand operations. In this role, the communications specialist will work closely with the director in developing, implementing and managing strategic communication projects to support a variety of client needs. The ideal candidate has experience working on political and advocacy campaigns, and has a pulse on Virginia politics.
Our next communications specialist is a confident and independent thinker who is able think on their feet, solve problems and create content on the fly. You are able to respond to breaking news and pitch a story when relevant. Most importantly, you want to fight for justice and work on causes that uplifts marginalized communities.
Storytelling is at the heart of what we do, so we need a strong writer who has experience creating the right content and messaging. You also have experience having the final say when copyediting content. Our clients rely on us to publish content with as few mistakes as possible.
We work with clients in different industries, so you must have experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects. Specifically, we are looking for the following qualifications:
This is a remote position.
This is a part-time position with pay at $35/hour based on experience. Hours range from 15-20 hours per week, depending on need, with the possibility of becoming full-time.
